Mentoring

Engagement and mentoring supported by The PFA and career professionals in order to raise aspirations, motivate to improve education and career potential.

Enterprise

Skills workshops provided by UKFast to offer an insight into business and the world of work.

DMSF recognise there are deep-rooted social problems facing young people today. We and our partners have a strong track record of providing pathways into employment and diversionary programmes, that deliver long lasting outcomes for the most hard to reach young people across Manchester.

Manchester is ranked England’s fourth most deprived Local Authority and second most deprived in terms of income deprivation. DMSF works with some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the region.

This disadvantage has a long lasting effect on young people by impacting on their health, their education and employment, and their interaction with the justice system.

In collaboration with Enterprise and Digital businesses, our Employability programme is designed to provide a quality, sustainable, work ready programme for delivery in schools for 14-16 year olds.

In partnership with schools, academies and businesses we identify young people across the North West, to participate in work ready learning, in order for them to make an effective transition from school to adulthood and employment.

Andy Lord CEO Rethink Group

Rethink has been a supporter of DMSF for 3 years now. As well as providing much needed funding, we have also provided work experience for 1 or 2 young participants.

I love the idea of showing young people that they are only limited by their own imaginations. The charity helps the young men and women by taking them out of a comfort zone and getting them to concentrate on their own potential. It’s truly inspirational to be involved in.

We are committed to being a long term partner to DMSF charity and to help cultivate brilliant people who can take on challenges across a broad spectrum of subjects. Sport is undoubtedly the enabler.”
